Adventures of Meghan's Pussy

June 19, 2008

Dear mum,

Couldn't stand the solitude any longer. Gone off to see the world. I've read about an interesting place called Australia. Don't be worried, I'll be back soon.

Hi mum and Auntie Amanda!

How are you two doing? I'm doing great! I haven't made it too far from home yet but things are pretty exciting! Here are some photos of my adventures so far. I've either been on a plane or in an airport the entire time but there has been so much to see already! Did you know they have moving sidewalks in the Vancouver airport?! For a cat like me with no legs, this is perfect! They also have super fast carts to drive you around if you're late; they even let me drive! Just kidding mum, they wouldn't let me drive. I have no legs or arms, of course I can't drive! Anyway, I'm excited to see what else this world has to offer.

Mum and Auntie,

I made it to Sydney, it is so crazy here! People drive on the wrong side of the road, use crazy words and think it is winter despite it being June and it being +15 degrees Celsius out. Australians are kinda nutters. Anyway, I'm going to try to get some rest meow and recover from my jetlag.

G'day Mum and Auntie Amanda!

Sorry, I haven't written lately. I think I caught a cold from Sydney's wet and chilly weather and haven't been up to much as a result. I decided to head north in search for warmer weather at a place called Cairns. It's in the sunshine state, it has gotta be warm.

Most of the cars here in Cairns (and Australia in general) are equipped with front guard rails. I've been told it is because the kangaroo situation here is so bad that Aussies are encourage to hit kangaroos if they see them on the highway. Yikes!

Anyway, I'm trying to do my part by in controlling the kangaroo population by eating their meat. In the picture, I'm enjoying skewers of barramundi, kangaroo, crocodile and ...um.... we'll just call that sausage. It is an interesting change from the Meow Mix I get at home. The XXXX beer helped to wash it down.

Anyway, I hope all is well at home! G'night!

G'day Mum and Auntie!

Sorry for not writing sooner, I got a mild case of vertigo after my snorkeling adventures. It must've been a combination of the water in my ears and the boat ride on choppy waters. No worries, I'm doing better now (I didn't actually need the lifesaving device).

Love Kitty,

Mum and Auntie Amanda,

How are things back home? I was thinking of coming home soon but I don't have a tan; Froggie will never believe that I visited Australia. Cairns itself does not have a beach but I've seen several postcards of a beautiful beach up at Cape Tribulation. I found a tour that would take me there through a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Daintree Rainforest. It seemed like a good idea. What a mistake. Who would've thought it would be raining in the rainforest? I can see where Cape Tribulation gets its name from; what a depressing experience. Needless to say, I didn't get my tan on. However, I did get to see crocodiles, a mangrove forest and get a kiss from my tour guide. Eew, he's not even my species!
